Lee County Commissioners Clean-up Day - Saturday, April 13, 2024

Each year, the City of Lexington names April as the City-Wide Clean Up Month in preparation for the Annual Homecoming Festival, which happens the first weekend in May. Next weekend is a great opportunity to clean up and get rid of your unwanted trash and bulk items. Lee County Commissioners Clean-up Day has been set for Saturday, April 13 from 9:00a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Click here for a list of Items Accepted and Items Not Accepted.

City Offices are closed Friday, December 29, 2023 and Monday, January 1, 2024 in observance of New Year's Holiday. City operations will resume Tuesday, January 2, 2024. There Will be a change to the trash schedule, pick will be Wednesday, January 3, 2023. Happy New Year's from the City of Lexington.

Construction along Third Street for the Sidewalk Improvement Project

The City of Lexington’s’ contractor (WJC Construction) began the sidewalk construction along the Third Street downtown sidewalk, between Rockdale Street and Main Street this morning. During this time, there will be construction-related noise and some minor traffic disruption with temporary lane/right-of-way closures anticipated. This project will build new sidewalks in the city, improving safety for pedestrians, including children who walk to and from school. Thank you for your patience during this time.
